Kelly Schellert — NeuroAesthetic Designer for Athletes & Power Performers

Designing Environments That Heal, Regulate, and Elevate Performance

Kelly Schellert is the first and only interior designer in the world specializing in neuroaesthetic and neurodesign environments for athletes, teams, and power performers operating under high-stress conditions.

A Career Spanning Performance, Precision, and Experience

Kelly’s design work spans residential, commercial, luxury, and large-scale performance environments—each grounded in how space impacts the nervous system, cognition, and emotional regulation.

Her experience includes:

  • Designing 26+ hospitality rooms for U2 360 Tour , contributing to the conversion of a professional baseball stadium
  • Creating custom tactile materials that support sensory regulation
  • Designing high-functioning spaces for families, performers, business owner homes and organizations under pressure
  • Collaborating on specification and selection for two Lamborghinis - inside/outside details
  • Created Ethos Design Collective, for 50+ independent designers serving in over 26 countries and the Ethos Design Collective lifestyle magazine to help educate the world on the difference that design makes. She currently volunteers her time, serving as the Creative Director for Ethos Design Collective and Ethos Luxe Lifestyle Magazine, published digitally on a platform reaching over 200 countries per issue, with award-winning, acclaimed international publisher Heart Centered Women Publishing, led by Charlotte Howard Collins.
  • Partnering with global furniture brands to make luxury product accessible to independent luxury designers. Schellert was instrumental in a two year prototype agreement for 12 Ethos designer members to conceptualize custom prototypes then displayed during Las Vegas Furniture Market, one of the largest in the world, extended to two years with a prominent international company.
  • Guest speaker on topics ranging from Private Label programs to recording educational webinars and guest spots for omnichannel media and marketing for Bridgetower Media, Charleston Forge, Woodbridge, Feizy, Business Of Luxury Design Magazine and more, all with the goal of helping independent designers gain equal footing in the luxury industry to thrive.
  • Studying behavioral psychology and cognitive function for 15+ years, and creating a program to improve communication and partnerships in luxury design and build spaces (Patent Pending).
  • Sole designer in LegacyMaker Academy for media with Cindy Christi TV, former host of Vacation Hunters and Food, Wine and Design (now cast director for Legacy Maker TV).
  • Designer on Landmark Award Winning Phoenix Project for City of St. Louis (restoration of fire damaged home)
  • Designer for Urban Regentrification Multi-Residence Development with Dielmann-Sotheby's International (Walker Townhomes Project)
  • Creates one-of-a-kind artwork for clients, fundraisers and foundations, including BAAware.org, One Voice (additionally lent voice to virtual choir for anti-violence choir fundraiser and orchestral presentation at Edward Jones), Special Olympics of Iowa, and more.
  • With her daughter, Schellert has co-curated and developed a line of accessible, barrier-free furniture into a customizable and colorful art inclusive private label line for youth, to create inspirational environments. (IE: Less institutional). The furniture, bedding, wallcoverings and artwork can be personalized for each user. The bedding (mattresses and linens) feature proprietary and sustainable technology safe for children who are bedridden, and/or healing from burns, which is beneficial for any user. The sheets are required to be changed less often, with colors coordinated to art linens, to enhance and inspire young imaginations through intense periods of healing, trauma, recovery and chronic illness. Coming soon to Rise and Soar Worldwide.

Each project, publication and media site is approached through the lens of how the environment supports the human lives inside it.

WHEN DESIGN BECAME PERSONAL

Why ANAM Exists

ANAM was born not from trend—but from lived experience.

When Kelly’s daughter, a nationally elite competitive dance champion, experienced a traumatic incident during a shooting at a shopping mall, the impact was profound. Performance didn’t simply pause — the nervous system changed.

Through trauma therapy and recovery, Kelly witnessed firsthand how environment either supports healing—or silently works against it.

As both a mother and an interior designer, Kelly began doing what she knew best: observing, listening, and rebuilding — starting with her daughter’s own bedroom.

That space became a living case study in:

  • Sensory regulation
  • Emotional safety
  • Restorative design
  • Nervous system support
  • Identity and empowerment

The transformation was tangible.

FROM CARE TO CRAFT: The Science Behind the Spaces

During this time, Kelly also drew upon her year long volunteer service as a patient care volunteer at a children’s hospital, supporting young patients as they prepared to return home.

She spent hours talking with children about:

  • What made them feel safe
  • What colors calmed them
  • What their “healing space” would look like when they got home

Together, they designed spaces in words, drawings, and imagination.

These experiences—combined with Kelly’s background in interior design, biophilia, and trauma-informed care—formed the foundation of what would become ANAM Environments (Patent Pending).

ANAM — A NEW CATEGORY: NeuroDesign for High-Performance Humans

Kelly is currently completing formal certification in NeuroAesthetics and NeuroDesign (through the only certified NeuroDesign Academy in existence), bringing scientific rigor to a practice already grounded in real-world outcomes.

ANAM is not traditional interior design.

It is:

  • Neuroaesthetic-informed
  • Trauma-aware
  • Performance-calibrated
  • Sensory-regulated
  • Human-first

ANAM environments is the first, and only, evidence-backed program in the world  designed for:

  • Athletes
  • Teams
  • Power performers
  • High-stress households (working with whole families)
  • Individuals navigating recovery, pressure, or transition

INSIDE → OUTSIDE

True performance happens when the inside and outside are in balance.

  • Mental strength coaching supports the athlete(s)/performer from the inside out.
  • ANAM environments support the athlete(s)/performer from the outside in.

Together, they create regulation, resilience, and readiness. This is why Kelly collaborates with mental strength coach and NLP (NeuroLinguistics Practitioner), Stacey Goodrich, as a leader in her field of mental strength coaching.

They have already collaborated for Rise and Soar magazine and media platform, creating and launching a free program to bring world-class athletes together with aspiring youth athletes on video calls. These calls facilitate the discussion of challenges around trauma, healing injuries and overcoming adversity on the path to realizing their full potential on the world stage. Young competitive athletes and their parents, personally faced with massive obstacles, are the first to be invited. They get to talk to and hear from Olympic level athletes and their parents, sharing real world advice, hope and inspiration for overcoming these challenges as they RISE AND SOAR towards greatness.
