Kelly Schellert is a luxury interior designer, NeuroDesigner, editorial creator, and founder of ANAM Environments™.
With over 27 years of experience in luxury residential, commercial, experiential, and wellness-focused design, her work bridges neurodesign, emotional performance, and environmental psychology.
Aside from NCIDQ and Sustainable Design certifications, Kelly is certified through the NeuroDesign Academy in the Foundations in Neuroscience for Architecture and Design program - a distinction achieved by fewer than 1% of designers globally.
Kelly was hand selected by NeuroDesign Academy Founder, Linda Kafka, to learn from her carefully curated faculty of world leaders in neurosciences, brain trauma, color, design, biometric companies, biotech, architecture and medical research professionals, to become certified and help bring design into a new era of wellness for those realizing that simple interior design is no longer the answer to meet our biological needs in today's tech driven, and saturated, world.
Through her certification, Schellert's work deeply explores how environments influence identity, recovery, emotional regulation, creativity, and human performance.
ANAM was created from a belief that spaces should do more than look beautiful. Out of her own family's experiences with trauma, illness, recovery and raising a high performance athlete and leader, their environments were the proving ground for ANAM.
"Our most personal spaces should help us function and perform better. Now, with interior design backed by 40,000 years of data in neurosciences and neuroaesthetics, that can become a reality.
I became certified in NeuroDesign and NeuroAesthetics and will never look at interior design the same way again. Understanding biology beneath our needs helps NeuroDesigners refine our client's spaces on a whole new level of personalization for health. It's no longer just about the beauty. It's about the biology and how the spaces can function for true wellbeing when NeuroDesign is applied.
As an interior designer who created a Collective of close to 60 global interior designers and interior architects serving around the world (Over 26 countries and counting!) I felt it was my ethical responsibility to help pave the way and also pivot my Collective and it's magazine and media towards this holistic way of interior design performance and wellbeing.
Specifically for athletes and those in high-stress careers, my design firm ANAM is rising to meet the demands for reset spaces, rooms and environments utilizing NeuroDesign. I am one of those who firmly believes in walking the walk, not just raving about it. My clients' results are proof that it works."
Schellert has also partnered with Mental Strength Coach and NeuroLinguistics specialist, Stacey Goodrich, to provide an Inside/Out, 2-prong, approach specifically for elite athletes and is leading an initiative that began in April, at State Capitols across the US for female athlete needs. These athletes are at their most vulnerable and critical ages between 13-22, with a higher dropout rate for female athletes vs. male athletes at the same age. This results in fewer leadership opportunities and poor wellbeing overall for female athletes. READ MORE HERE
